What is the difference between Scream (15) and Family (PG)? +
Each night starts in the dusk light with the family-friendly Family Time sessions are before. After 7pm the site becomes our full scary trail with Scream Time sessions.

Screamtime is the ultimate after-dark scare experience, designed for thrill-seekers and horror fans! Step into a world of immersive live-action scares, terrifying characters, and atmospheric sets that will keep you on edge from start to finish. Creepingly curated to weave you through the dark, terrifying corners of our haunted venues – including secret spaces open normally only to the deathly spirits themselves and out into the eerie dark grounds of the Estate.
The experience takes approximately 40-60 minutes to complete, if you make it out!
Partway through, catch your breath in our Scare Village: grab devilish street food, drinks at the Spookeasy bar, toast ghostly marshmallows, or hit the fairground for a wicked break before you face the shadows again.*

Family - PG
Family sessions are the ultimate family Halloween adventure— Made for families and fearless fun-seekers aged 7 and up! Journey through an interactive, immersive route that takes you deep into the venue’s secret indoor spaces and out into the mysterious grounds. Get ready for themed sets, playful surprises, and scare actors who’ll make you jump, shriek, and laugh out loud.
Every twist and turn brings new excitement—expect shrieks and delights, unexpected encounters, and memories you’ll be talking about all year!!
The experience lasts around 40–60 minutes, but the chills and giggles will haunt you long after you leave!
Ready for a breather? Partway round, dive into the Shadows of our Scare Village*—grab tasty food and drinks, toast marshmallows over the fire pits, and soak up the atmosphere before you take on the rest of the route.

Family Time - we recommend this as a PG experience. Suitable for brave souls aged 7 and upwards. For those wanting to enjoy the light-hearted spooky but fun side of Halloween – jumps and giggles & a fab night out for the whole family!
Scream Time (15) – is strictly for BRAVE 15 years old and over. For those who crave spine-chilling terror. This is not for the faint of heart! Please note – professional scare actors are used throughout, and they will not break character. This session is designed to terrify. Please only come along to the Adult Terror sessions if you want to be very, very scared!
For the faint-hearted over 15 years old, we recommend joining the Family sessions.
Are you open in bad weather? +
Yes, Scream Time takes place in the late afternoon/evening in October and November in the UK – we expect some bad weather! At Margam the event is outside, with one large section through the Castle. The Scare village has under-cover seating so you can still enjoy your ghostly goodies.
Wrap up warm, wear your boots/wellies & don’t be scared of a little bit of rain!!!!
*In the unlikely event that the weather was so extreme that it posed a Health and Safety risk, Scream Time would not proceed on that evening, all guests would be notified in advance of this with details of how to re-arrange their visit.

Can I bring my dog? +
Regrettably no. We love our 4 legged friends, but the nature of our experience means that it is not suitable for dogs, so please leave them safely tucked up at home!
Are there any Health and Safety Rules I should know about? +
In order to protect the historic nature of the building at Wentworth Woodhouse, high heels must not be worn inside the building.
In order to ensure your own safety and enjoyment (and the safety of our other visitors and staff), all visitors must remain on the clearly marked path in the designated sections of the Castle/Mansion house or within the front of house areas at Scare Village at all times. All children and vulnerable adults must be closely supervised at all times. Scream Time takes place in the autumn, in the dusk/after dark in a country estate setting. All areas other than the clearly marked path and Scare Village front of house will have potential trip hazards and risks to health and safety, which may be difficult to see during the time that Scream Time is operational. So stick to the path at all times and adhere to any instructions/advice given by our stewarding staff.
Please note that there are areas of unfenced water located off the path at Scream Time. Please ensure all children and vulnerable adults are carefully supervised at all times.
Conditions on the trail will be continually monitored by our onsite team , but we would remind all visitors that the event takes place in an outside, country setting over Autumn after dark. So please dress appropriately, with suitable footwear and exercise caution when attending and supervise children and vulnerable adults at all times. All visitors agree to adhere to our conditions of entry at the time of purchasing their tickets and failure to do so will result in your being deemed to be trespassing and removed from site.
What will happen if the weather is bad? Will Scream Time be cancelled? +
Scream Time takes place predominantly outside, in the Autumn. We are open seven days a week throughout the duration of the Event. We will therefore be open and operational throughout all usual Autumnal weather conditions, which will include inclement weather. We remind all customers to dress appropriately for the weather.
The health and safety of our visitors and staff remains at all times our paramount consideration. Throughout every day of the Event, weather conditions will be continuously monitored by the Scream Time team and with our venue partners.
In the unlikely event that weather conditions on site, on any given night, posed a risk to the health and safety of our visitors or staff, that night's event would be cancelled. Any decision to cancel would be made as early as possible on the day of the Event and by 2pm at the latest.
Any decision to cancel any night of the trail will be made by the Organisers in conjunction with our Venue partners. Any such decision will be final.
All guests with pre-booked tickets for that night will be contacted via email (and SMS if mobile phone number provided) to notify them of any cancellation and the next steps for -booking.

It is not permitted to bring your own food & drink. It is strictly forbidden to bring your own alcohol to site. Anyone found to be in possession of their own alcohol or consuming alcohol that has not been purchased on site, will be asked to leave site immediately.
Where is Margam Park and how do I get there? +

Margam is 14 miles east (20 mins drive down the A483 and M4) from Swansea and 30 miles west from Cardiff (35 mins drive down the M4)
By public transport: From Cardiff or Swansea take the train to Port Talbot, then the X4 Bridgend bus for 15 mins, getting off at the Crematorium, and it's a 5 min walk from there. Or it's a 10 min Taxi from Port Talbot station. Please check timings, especially for later slots.
By road: off the M4 at Junction 38, 1/2 a mile down the A48

Are there live scare actors? +
Yes. The event is an intense interactive, live scare experience with actors trained and paid to scare you!
They will not harm you! Our actors are trained to interact responsibly with visitors and that interaction will depend on how visitors react. The spirits and ghouls will not touch you. We have a no touch policy, however if you don’t behave during your visit …. they might haunt you for the rest of your days & you will be asked to leave the event!!
For our Family Time session, there is a “safe” word that can be used by visitors to call the scare actors off if things get too uncomfortable – please ask at the start if you think you might need this.
You must not touch or harm any of the actors/our staff or any other visitor. If you do, or attempt to do so, you will be removed from the site immediately by the security staff
Is alcohol sold on site? +
Yes. Our ghoulishly tempting bar is awaiting in our Scare Village – serving a selection of alcoholic drinks. We will operate a strict Challenge 25 policy for all alcohol sales. If you are lucky enough to look under 25 years when you are buying alcohol, you will be asked to prove that you are over 18. Bring your ID.
There will be “bag searches” on entry. Any alcohol found on a visitor’s person will be confiscated. Alcohol can only be purchased from our onsite bar areas.
Do you protect the bats? +
Margam Country Park is home to a variety of species’ of bats. Bats are a protected species and we do all we can to help them continue to flurish at Margam. In the unlikely event of coming into contact with a bat during the event please do not touch it & highlight the encounter to the onsite stewards.
What rides are at Margam? +
We have a Helter Skelter, Dodgems, Ghost train and Swings.

Must children be accompanied by an adult? +
All under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18 years). ID will be required and entry refused without ID and/or an accompanying adult.
I cannot find my confirmation email +
Please don't worry, if you have already booked and not received your confirmation email or have forgotten any of the details of your booking; date, time, numbers booked for, etc, please fill in your details below and you will be sent a reminder email with the details of your original booking (please ensure that you check your email junk/spam folder for the email).
You only need your ORDER NUMBER and BOOKING NAME upon arrival.

What ID is suitable? +
For those attending the adult Scream Time sessions ID is required on entry. Proof of I.D. must be photographic i.e. Passport, NIC card, driving licence. Bringing a photocopy will be sufficient providing it is clear.

Can I change the date of my ticket/get a refund? +
Regrettably, dates on tickets can NOT be changed, so PLEASE choose carefully. We have a no refund policy.
All tickets are non-refundable unless an event is cancelled, where you may be entitled to a refund or new date.

Do I have to book in advance? +
Yes. You must book in advance. We recommend that you book early as each timed entry slot has a fixed capacity and popular slots, are likely to sell out quickly.

What happens if my night is cancelled? +
In the event that a night of the event had to be cancelled (due to adverse weather and/or for any other reason), all persons booked for that night would be notified of the cancellation by 2pm on the day of the Event, via an email sent to the email address that the booking was made under.
An announcement would also be made through our social media platforms and our website. We advise customers to check our website for the latest updates before they travel.
Full details of the next steps would be contained within the email notifying customers of the cancellation, including details as to how customers can re-book.
Customers would be able to rebook tickets, up to the equivalent financial value, for any future timeslots in this year’s event, subject to availability. Customers would also be able to transfer their tickets over to our Event the following year. In the event that neither of those options was suitable a full refund would be issued. All transfers and/or refunds pursuant to our cancelling a night must be requested within 28 days of the date you were booked to attend.
The booking fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

General Refunds and Transfers +
Customers are advised to consider taking out refund protection or similar insurance at the time of their purchase.
No refunds will be issued for any non-attendance, under any circumstances, if the Event is not cancelled.
Can my carer go for free? +
We no longer offer free tickets specifically for carers.
Instead, the free ticket is provided to the person who requires assistance. This is an Access Ticket (Only available with at least one paying, full price ticket.).
This ensures that guests with access needs can attend our events without financial barriers.
I need support to attend — what ticket should I book?
If you require assistance to attend, you can request a complimentary accessible ticket for yourself - an Access Ticket. Please order your other tickets then email info@screamtime.co.uk for the access ticket, quoting the order number you have so we can add it to that order for you.
If you are attending with a companion or carer, they should purchase a standard ticket unless otherwise stated.

Can young children attend for free? +
Children aged 2 and under can attend free of charge and don't need a ticket.

Is there Car Parking? +
For our event the car parking charge is included for free with your ticket.
Please be aware that before the event starts parking charges do apply at Margam. Follow on site signage.
Can I drop off? +
Drop off is possible at the main car park. The parking team can guide you.
I am visiting Margam during the day, do I need to leave before entering Screamtime in the evening? +
Yes. Daytime visitors must vacate the Gardens at closing time (4pm). Only pre-booked Screamtime ticketholders will then be admitted to the rvent. All visitors to Screamtime must show their pre-booked tickets prior to entry and will only be permitted to enter during their fixed, booked time slot.
Is it wheelchair accessible? +
Accessibility varies per site – please look at the information for the site you are visiting:
Margam: The experience has been created to be as accessible as possible within the context of the natural site at Margam Country Park. PLEASE note one section of this year’s Scream Time is not accessible to those in mobility scooters and/or who are propelling themselves on a self-propelled wheelchair. This section can be avoided and/or our stewards can assist. Please contact our team (
info@screamtime.co.uk) if this applies to you so we can see how best we can help to ensure that you can still access the event. This MUST be done in advance of your visit in order that we can assist. Additionally, some parts are along tight, narrow corridors. The trail at Margam does involve some unavoidable steep inclines/declines, which some guests using wheelchairs/mobility aids may find very difficult.
All sites:Whilst care has been taken to remove all known trip hazards, the trails take place in a country park setting, so will have stones/leaves/twigs etc, across the path. There will be some sections where cabling crosses the trail, these will be covered by cable ramp covers. Accessible toilets are available. If extreme weather conditions mean that the experience is not fully accessible for people using wheeled mobility aids (bearing in mind the general limitations as set out above), consideration will be made on a case by case basis to allow tickets to be transferred to an alternative date when the ground conditions are more suitable. We strongly advise you not to attend Scream Time if you are pregnant, are of a nervous disposition, suffer from claustrophobia, are prone to seizures, have heart or respiratory problems or any other physical or psychological sensitivities, which might make an event designed to terrify you (or for spooky time sessions make you jump/be spooked) be unsuitable. We strongly advise you not to attend Scream Time if you are pregnant, are of a nervous disposition, suffer from claustrophobia, are prone to seizures, have heart or respiratory problems or any other physical or psychological sensitivities, which might make an event designed to terrify you (or for spooky time sessions make you jump/be spooked) be unsuitable.
All areas may contain queues, strobe lighting, smoke machines, laser lighting, latex, small tight spaces, darkness, uneven flooring, water effects and loud distressing music. For those with mobility issues/using mobility aids, please read the access section above.
Will there be strobe flash lighting? +
There will be strobe, pulsating and flashing light effects across all sections of the Event, with additional haze/smoke effects at various points. Certain sections of the Event may be unsuitable for those with balance disorders.
Are there toilets at the event? +
Yes. Toilets are situated at the car park and at the cafe courtyard, approx. 3/4's of the way along. Both include accessible toilets.
Is smoking/vaping permittted? +
Wentworth Woodhouse is a smoke and vape free site, please refrain from smoking/vaping throughout your visit.
Elvaston & Margam - smoking/vaping is strictly prohibited in all indoor and enclosed areas (including marquees). Please be considerate to other visitors and staff and dispose of all cigarettes safely if smoking/vaping in other outdoor/open parts of the Event.
Can I wear a costume? +
Of course - costumes are encouraged – please let your imagination run wild!! However, for safety reasons and the enjoyment of other visitors and our staff, facemasks and/or full-face make-up is strictly forbidden. It is also forbidden to bring any weapons with you (including props/replicas). Guests who fail to adhere to these rules, will be asked to leave.
Is filming and photography permitted? +
To avoid spoiling the visit for other guests, photography and filming is not permitted inside the Castle or along the trail of terror! There are designated photo opportunity moments in the Scare village and exit route.

Is there security? +
For the safety of all of our guests and staff, security are on site at all times. Bag searches will be in operation. Security’s job is to enforce safety regulations and ensure a zero tolerance strategy is adopted towards drugs, alcohol and ignorance of Scream Time Rules and policies. You must listen and respond to Security and our stewarding team at all times. Failure to do so, will result in your removal from site with no refund issued.
